• For the Environment and Protection of the Aquifer
  • Pledge to work to preserve the community’s rural feel in all areas of code modification and future development, recognizing that land acquisition, code enforcement, wetlands and vegetation protection are vital.
  • Enhance community dialogue regarding regional water service and improvements to localized wastewater treatment.
  • Aggressively obtain statistical and scientific understanding of geographic areas for which water is not potable.
  • Implement sound and definitive short- and long-range planning goals for aquifer protection, including open space acquisition.
• For Public Safety
  • Implement the recommendations of the Deer & Tick Committee reaching public consensus.
  • Ensure adequate funding to address and timely dredging, runoff curtailment, and town land repairs.
  • Fully support our excellent police, fire, EMS, and highway departments.
• For Affordable Housing (Workforce and Seniors)
  • Develop island-wide consensus to seek affordable housing solutions compatible with the comprehensive plan and zoning restrictions.
  • Ensure that all use of Community Housing proceeds do not materially alter local needs for housing fulfillment.
• For Transparency, Communication, and Civility
  • Engage the public and encourage attendance and to be heard at town meetings.
  • Continue to seek improvements to economies of scale in town use of technology.
• For Fiscal Responsibility
  • Apply significant personal experience and expertise to maintain fiscal control of unbridled budget expansion, always with a view to minimizing our property tax burdens.
  • Improve citizen awareness and engagement in budget process.
